July 1, 2010 marked one year for Pink Saloon’s new location in Wichita, KS. A boutique with lots of heart for friends and fashion, we thought it only fitting to throw a red carpet party for Wichita’s most stylish ladies. When tunes from DJ Highnoone, catering by Cake Ball Divas, delicious summer drinks, new arrivals and the most stylish fashion friends gather in one place, the evening is sure to be nothing less than fabulous. Ever year spring brings new trends we hurriedly run to our favorite boutiques for. Assuring our closets are in on the action. Yet one style has proven over time to have legit staying power. The ever popular stripe. Despite much criticism for being unflattering to the figure, we have to adamantly disagree. Stripes offer a getaway from the realities of your body. Think of it more as a distraction to the naked eye. And with a variety of styles and silhouettes there are plenty of reasons to give stripes a go. We’re especially fond of the Michael Stars Riviera stripe pocket tee and swing tank. In true Mink Pink form they have silhouettes not seen in the everyday wardrobe with cinched waist dresses and dipped back tees with cut out sleeves. We’ve seen lots of denim on the market. Every celebrity does one of 3 things. Creates their own fragrance, starts a clothing line and now cell phones. Prvcy Denim is thankfully not the brain child of a celebrity rather a fashion connoisseur with purpose.

The Prvcy lifeline design is inspired by the leap of faith Carolyn Jones, ECO and Founder, experienced during the last days of her mother, Mrs. Jean James life. Mrs. James, who battled with breast cancer, gave her daughter the inspiration to leave her corporate occupation and embark on a journey to find what would give her true happiness. In homage to her mother, Carolyn Jones created the name PRVCY (pronounced Privacy) as her brand from a conversation she had with her mother wanting more privacy from her hospital gown.

The lifeline design tells the story of complacency in Carolyn’s professional life to the tragedy of losing her mother to breast cancer, only to triumph through listening to the words of her mother to find a career with passion.

The company has funded and provided free mammograms to women across the United States and will continue this program as one of the company’s core initiatives. The company has also committed to give back up to ten percent of ALL sales proceeds towards breast cancer awareness and free mammogram programs. The company has donated several hundred thousand dollars to breast cancer related programs since 2003.
