I talked to some denim geeks that say if you dump in a bit of epsom salts in the wash it will set the dye. The only downside here is that they will no longer break in or fade as easily once you've epsom salt washed them. You won't get the cool effect of the ocean wash described above.

We've heard of this before. It's been called an "ocean wash." If you were to walk out in the ocean the salt water would set the dye while the salt would also create friction because of the abrasiveness of the salt. This friction may give you a custom distressing that is unique to your body. No one here at Pink Saloon has ever actually tried it. Any one up for a road trip...?

In the past I have heard that soaking denim in epson salts helps to set the color/dye. Is there any truth to that?
